I worked (research based field work) on the original adoption, was an ok idea in the original macros comprehension but later very little of the original science applied and became much more to do with the general ideology of modernly common eco-fascist jihads.
Original idea was to try and cut a reasonable line between the env and the real world for an environment-people win win......later under Gillard et al it changed away to instead toward a proper orthodox minded eco fascist environmental first regime, the media was good with it the time being who that are as tribe so the people were silenced and preyed upon.... flyover country deplorables comes to mind
