If your not keen on Nick stating the obvious then you'll have no argument with the Labor appointed Chinese Ambassador stating that very same thing, viz. the FTA with China encompasses a deal whereby the continuation of China accepting our raw materials at a particular price is dependent on us accepting Chinese imports of food. Hence the forced "drought" in the Murray basin (a forced drought in a wet year) fits very well into the present scheme of dismantling the MIA and associated areas.
--- Just a small quote from the speech, obviously our Ambassador didn't realise that China has hothouses and chemically induced growing cycles.
"You could say our agricultural trade is counter-seasonal."
Oh,you get educated by learning.
Full and somewhat boring speech here - for those already educated don't read - Dave, I'll leave it to you.
