then go in heavy handed and tell them what you will do...to ruin their lives, wipe out our food bowl, and you will pay big time....
pretend you will negogiate.....but like the mining tax....no negogiations took place, and the govt just laid down the law to the miners,.....and expected them to suck it in.....

the murray darling needs protection, but it also needs competent people to manage it, and the people who rely on the water around the basin.....
it should not be exploited, and sent to the city....
up to 20 different departments have mismanaged it over the past 100 years, and there quietly in the background, the state govnuts can override, and allocate the water...without any policy to protect it....
look at the ridiculous situation of Cubbie station, and growing rice and cotton in an Australian desert....
the people who live around the basin, will fight this heavy handed govnut......
