Bruun-Rasmussen's Auction House in Copenhagen has for the first time Greenlandic rubies under the hammer. It will take place on March 1, where the 18-karat gold necklace "La Nina" consisting of necklace and ear studs decorated with faceted rubies is available for sale. The assessed value
The valuation price is between 75,000-100,000 kroner and the interest in the jewelry kit has been nice, says Katrin Mikkelsen Sørensen, head of international sales, jewelry and watches at Bruun-Rasmussen.
"We had a large jewelry store in Bredgade last Friday, where journalists came from several of the leading magazines, and they were very interested in the Greenlandic rubies. We have also received some inquiries from private customers from both Europe, Asia and America. In addition, there are several goldsmiths who have expressed their wish that they want to work with Greenlandic rubies because it is something new, unique and exclusive, says Katrin Mikkelsen Sørensen, who himself was impressed with the rubies' clarity and color intensity that she compares with Burma-rubies. The rubies
The rubies in the La Nina jewelery kit were extracted in 2014 during the first test drills made by the later cracked True North Gems Greenland (TNGG), who grabbed the rubies of a jewel in Vancouver. http://m.sermitsiaq.ag/historisk-auktion-groenlandske-rubiner
