    CJ, not necessarily so, you could also achieve the same result with a cartridge that had three projectiles in it, each with its own propellant load, cap fired for the first projectile and then a very quick burn fuse between the next two, this is shown in one of the patents metalstorm have.

    I believe this cap/fuse fired cartridge is what they base hyperburst rounds on?
    These rounds can be fired in a rifle that has been pressure tested I would think, not sure what effect it has on a piston driven actions though?, the only problem with this cap type firing is that you don't have a choice, you fire all three propellant loads whether you want to or not.

    BRR what you wrote is similar to what I was saying , perhaps I wasn't clear enough?
