It has been said many times by Danny and Fred at the AGMs previously when this question was asked. Cost to purchase has been discussed with potential customers and it has never been seen as an issue when/if they look to take delivery of the product.
the issue (certainly in the first 18m/2 years) will always be volume capacity.
when asked what is the cost or potential margin as they had discussed agreements with the fab, they said this was commercially sensitive. This was said at last years AGM.
put simply, whether it’s $2, $5, $10 or $20 to get your hands on a chip to beat your competitor and if means you sell an extra 100m or 200m phones compared to what you did last year, would you care?
I think the CEO at Apple or Samsung would be saying, just make sure you get this competitive advantage first!
