something went badly wrong when machines started making music and people didn't

also I 'suspect' that now going away from the old days of very very very picky big recording companies - to where almost anyone can get their personal noise out to the public -

has in fact dropped the quality of music we hear --

I would have not thought that before it happened - but, it seems so to me -- if the story of Elton John and Burnie Taupin is true and most of their early work was rejected out right - shit shit shit - go away and write some really good things and get back to me -

whilst that 'shit' eventually became hits by themselves - it did push Taupin to higher levels of writing and John also to make the music work ----------

later on to now - as the power of the recording companies waned somewhat - we've lost it --------------- I think it's a combination of that and machine music that makes a lot of stuff today - just forgettable noise
