However, I would like to note in passing that there is a large contingent of HC members who believe that global warming is a conspiracy perpetrated by the IPCC and Al Gore and lots of other leftie greenie socialist types in order to scam them out of carbon taxes and oil and coal revenues etc etc. Additionally, Steve Fielding is being heralded as their saviour, LOL!
May I suggest that when certain misinformed posts appear on the GREENE and the General forums that we remain vigilant and do not allow such rubbish posts to pass without informed comment? I am guilty of a certain amount of frustration and a bit of sledging when these posts appear, but my main reaction is that I find it very hard to believe these attitudes still exist.
But as Tim Flannery said on Lateline recently - I will paraphrase him if I may - the climate change denial dinosaurs are bigger and uglier here in Australia than anywhere else.
