I tend to agree that the news is likely to be positive.
Theoretically, IPR could call a trading halt before announcing that the patent has been finally ruled invalid and they are discontinuing all further action....
But I doubt it.
And the rise in price and volume - suspiciously positive.
As mentioned previously, the downside is about $5m in costs if the SAR decision goes badly. Even then, IPR is still trading under its cash position. (And the $5m becomes a tax-offset anyway, so the actual costs would only be 70% of the $5m).
BUT if it is a win/and or a big settlement, the VALUE of IPR would increase by at least 100% (what the sp actually does is another thing!)
