kaunas what you posted is simply not true or at least not in the part of Australia where I live.
At Christmas there are street carols and Xmas trees and nativity scenes for those who want one tho Santa Claus seems to dominate.
At Easter there are eggs and lollies for little children to hunt at kindy and the government primary school.

I agree with you that we should not pander too much to the beliefs of any religion and in my part of Australia nobody does.
