He has not named the "many US states" and has not put any condition as in but only in the rare case where "judicial consent" may be given.

That is the dishonesty of which I write about Dave R's posts.

They are incomplete for a purpose, designed to hide reality. The proportion of young girls of 14 who are married?
That would be absolutely tiny. But he just sounds off with partial truths or those which do not stand up to a more honest appraisal.

" Two states, Massachusetts and New Hampshire, allow 12- and 13-year-old girls respectively and 14-year-old boys to marry with parental and judicial permission." Hardly bible belt.
