Jews have lived in Egypt for a longer continuous period than they have in Israel as a modern nation-state. Jewish presence in Egypt dates back to ancient times, at least since the period of Joseph, son of Jacob, who became a vizier in Egypt (around the 18th century BCE). The most significant period is the Exodus, traditionally dated to the 13th century BCE, when Moses led the Israelites out of Egypt.
They didn't split Egypt in half in 1947 because Egypt was strong and could fight back. Palestinians were weak and could not fight back.

That's they decided to divide Palestine in half on 1947 despite voting no from Palestinians.
