    It is five times per day, and the Isha prayer is a night prayer.

    There is some variations by sect, because Shia Muslims combine the afternoon and morning prayers, and usually pray three times per day. (In places like mosques, the Shia clergy keep the traditional five times.) The reason Shias give for this, is that when engaged in work, it is better to have a single, midday break.
