Twenty one policemen have been shot dead, execution style, when an armed gang stormed a police station in a town in the restive Iraqi province of Al-Anbar, a police officer said.

Several dozen gunmen attacked the police station in Haditha, 200 kilometres west of Baghdad, said the police officer from the town.
