this is just like using Aboriginal tribal law to settle quarrels between a community and an aberrant kid. except theres no criminal case.

Using your logic, every ethnic group can bring their own bit of law with them - the Indians can bring in the caste system , the Italians can rely on the ancient laws of omerta' and the Puritans can burn a few witches at the stake
