Hi sypaladin, Pyne had purposely given the impression and in some cases specifically said that he would honour and match the funds and the funding arrangements for 4 years and as he said on his website "Every single school in Australia will receive, dollar for dollar".
Once elected, he revealed that he didn't intended to honour those promises and in fact was planning to take money away from the schools he specifically gave assurances he wouldn't.
And this is even excluding his deception of trying to pretend that he didn't know the $1.2b was not on the table prior to making his promises.
If Pyne wanted to get rid of Gonski, then fine get rid of it, but don't lie and mislead the Australian voters about your intentions.
From what I have just seen on another thread, it looks like the government are backtracking and could be kicking in another $1.2b for education.
Though it still doesn't negate their lying and the original intent to deceive us.
