A Joan Kirner said "education had to be part of the Socialist struggle for equality rather than an instrument of the Capitalist system". Noble sentiments but when this was embraced by Gonski he forgot this IS a Capitalist system and we work on a reward for effort basis notwithstanding that the wealth produced in our system be used to help those who cannot help themselves. The idea is NOT to give the Australian Education Union and education academics (who are mainly Leftists) a free rein to implement a system that is not in Australia's best interests,(and Socialism never is).
