"Moats" include
- best of breed in the opinion of many in the industry
- superior security than competitors (I believe it is still the only EU certified watch for kids but happy to be corrected)
- B&M distributors - competitors are online only which indicates a level of trust by JB Leading Edge and Spark in the product (and apparently not in their competitors).
Not a "moat" as such, but MGM is debt free funding R&D from company profits.
Flagging new product development in recent interviews and announcements indicates diversification and innovation in the company which I view as "future proofing" the company to some extent.
This is all apart from the rather compelling business case as outlined in the report cited above.
