messageyou™ (MSGU) Now Covers Australia
Adelaide-based SMS systems specialist company, MGMWireless, is pleased to announce that it
has reached agreement to supply its ground-breaking SMS service to its first school in Tasmania.
Signing of the agreement is a landmark for MGMWireless, which now services schools in every
Australian State.
"The only gap in our map of Australia is the Northern Territory and we are making every effort to
sign up an education facility there," said MGMWireless managing director, Mr Mark Fortunatow.
MGMWireless now has contracts with more than 130 schools across Australia which use its
patented messageyou solution, an SMS system designed to fight the problem of truancy in
Australian schools. "Schools which use messageyou throughout Australia report reductions of up
to 80 per cent in unexplained absences," Mr Fortunatow said.
"Truancy is a major social issue facing the education system. We feel that our SMS-based system
is helping to provide a solution to the problem of kids wagging school."
Nearly half of all South Australia government secondary schools have adopted messageyou. "We
have been delighted by the support of the South Australian Government in particular in the fight
against truancy and we are receiving strong signals from other State Governments that they see
our system as a practical and modern way of combating this problem."
"There are more than 40 schools in New South Wales that are using messageyou and some 23
schools in Western Australia."
