Cannabis drug trial for NSW chemo patients
NSW cancer patients will soon be able to trial a new cannabis tablet to help them cope with the debilitating effects of chemotherapy.
The cannabis-derived capsule will be made available to more than 300 cancer sufferers who have not responded well to traditional anti-nausea and vomiting treatments while undergoing chemotherapy.
The trial, which is expected to start by mid-2016, is the third phase of the state government's research into medicinal cannabis which has previously included trials for the terminally ill and children with epilepsy.
