Anyone can apply to get the rebates and they are on a sliding scale. From what my golfing buddy told me, the minimum you have to turnover to qualify is $5.2M per annum ($100K a week)with TAS Tote and I think about $10M a year with Tabcorp. This gets you a rebate of 2% I think he said. They pay the rebate by directly topping up of your online account monthly.
Unitab do not offer any rebates.
It's a win for the tote as turnover is increased and they take their 16% so they can afford to "rebate" 4% to the big players and everyone's a winner.....except the average Joe Blow who is getting slugged 16% and gets no rebate. Once again the battlers pay for the whales without even knowing they are paying.

Word has it that Zeljko gets a 6% rebate. No-one really knows for sure as he keeps such a low profile and despises any publicity but if the totes are offering 4% to big players, it stands to reason he is getting circa 6% as he is the biggest punter on the planet according to that article I posted earlier this week.
