For what it's worth, I have very fond memories of Mud and the other islands of Moreton Bay. I used to cruise the bay on a small trailer sailor with my uncle, this was back in the 60's, and we would camp on the various islands. I think it was Mud Is though I'm not 100% certain that I had one of the worst nights of my life. After picking up a 3rd degree sunburn on most exposed parts of my bod, after hiking across the sand hills on the southern end of Moreton Island, we were subjected to a merciless mosquito attack all night on Mud ...agony.....
