Exactly why I did not buy one back in the seventies, they were just too hard to hang on too.
I was reminded why I didnt buy one when I played the Ovation a while ago which a friend of mine has that I did not know about.
It was a great sounding guitar and with the composite fibre back it tended to keep the guitar woods stable.
The Ovation my friend has is in great condition for over 4 decades old, there is absolutely no problems with it.
I offered to buy it but they would not sell.
Its a pity they didnt make it big though, they were very good instruments imo.
