You have completely missed my point.
In the original post I said having virtually ONE thread for lifestyle and travel for the whole of MONTH was not very satisfactory.
The reason.......there is much chopping and changing where all sorts of different topics are discussed.
It would be a lot easier to follow if when someone had a new topic, they started a new thread with
a new topic header.
It’s not the same as half a dozen friends sitting around having coffee were the conversation/discussion changes from topic to topic.
That’s fine, they are all there for the whole discussion.
And they can pick it up at their next get together,
In the lifestyle and travel forum some of the regulars have recently set it up as a “monthly forum” in which all messages, topics and replies are posted
So people come into the L & T forum much later and the thing has become a huge mish mash
with no continuity of topics or discussion.
No separation or index for ease of use.
An example
Recently in the “march tails” thread
A singlethread with >50000 viewings for the month, and lots of different topics discussed,
someone started to talk about glucosamine and how it didn’t work.
It was only a fluke I saw it.
As a “health professions..retired” I agree absolutely with what NBD said.
Ive seen plenty of evidence it doesnt work ( well maybe the placebo effect does)
BUT
It would have been a lot easier if it was started as a new topic with a new heading “Glucosamine” or something similar.
And I would have contributed/ added to the discussion.
So my initial post was a request to start each NEW topics with a NEW thread in L&T
to make it easier to follow for ALL those that visit the L&T forum......not just those that frequent it very regularly.
And I was not having a go at or singling out anyone.
It was meant as a serious request to a problem.
And I thought deserved serious consideration and a serious response.

I too enjoy the “social side of HC
Not just the share /finance forums
And NBD
I did like your very clever reply to me this morning ...gave it the old TU
But right now, back the finance forums for a bit of light relief.
