My dog had the surgery / operation last Tuesday. Picked him up Thursday. Nightmare, I have to give him antibiotics , pain killers , tranquilizers and rub cream on his leg so it doesn't get dry . ( stops him trying to scratch and lick the wound) cost another $200. Got one of those plastic things on his head. Nearly impossible to keep him calm. Has jumped off the bed 4 times and onto the bed once. Gets over excited when people visit. Hates the medication and the pills. Need a crowbar to open his mouth. Has teeth that appear to be be titanium needles. He is right onto the pills .When I get them into his mouth I hold it shut blow into his nose and hold onto his closed mouth for 5 minutes. Unless his tongue comes out if his mouth they are still there. Spits them out dissolved. The tranquilizer is a liquid. Have a syringe but believe it or not he spits it out Tried bating meat . Won't fall for that. Have bruises all over the back of my hand and band aides. The nightmare continues.

Crate him mate, only out for trips outside to the toilet and even then on lead so he can't go running around. It will be a crappy 6 weeks or so but better than him doing damage and the leg not healing properly and him having problems the rest of his life. Just give him bones or whatever you can that will keep him occupied in his crate.
