I remember the same thing at the local club when the price of a schooner hit a $1 everyone said they would never buy another beer again as it was too dear now.... how could you afford to pay $50 or $60 a week for 50 or 60 beers....its a outrage....

They were all back a couple of days later... this was in 1985 from memory or there about's.....

those that are still alive today are still saying that the beer at $4 a schooner is too dear.....( but it is cheap by Sydney standards now )
