I've enjoyed reading a bit of history regarding the Island of Sicily and came to see the people have an unusual mindset.

SBS presented the film Kaos-- that had English sub-titles. It is based on a series of short stories by the best known writer from Sicily--Pirandello

IMO it is worth seeing as it shows the violence, madness and unusual sense of humour of the natives.

If you like reading, the best known book on Sicily is-- The Leopard

I also liked the Book by Peter Robb an Australian--Midnight in Sicily

He writes well.
