    hi Michelef,
That is what I love about this area, out here in the country. It is a smorgasbord for photography and artists.
I have so many special places off the beaten track, that I have either painted or photographed for most of my adult life. I am lucky that many are still there, unchanged, since I was a child.

Here is a painting, of Angel (unfinished) one of my horses. She was around a 6-8 months old when I did this painting. She grew up and was being trained to become one of my daughters dressage horses. Unfortunately vandals got into her paddock, chased her out and she was hit by a car.

She was the daintiest little mare, just 14.2 hands, had mainly Thoroughbred blood lines, mixed with Arab. I broke her in, and my young daughter did all her training, winning many hundreds of ribbons and competitions with her.

I only recently added the Glass Coat finish to the painting, which shows as the shine on her neck. Again this is experimenting with translucency. I hope I have not ruined it, but it needs more work. The photo is not in focus
but you get the gist, the picture.

I focus on trying to capture the horses personality above all else. They are like people, each is an individual and all have different characteristics and personalities.
Angel used to wait at the fence for her little mistress to arrive, then call out to her when she spotted my daughter.
I believe I captured that look here.
    cheers
