my internet is so slow, page-9

I'm with Optus cable and in the last few weeks speed has fallen dramatically,the usual diconnect modem etc has little effect but the number of users does and the fall off during late afternoon and evening is obvious.
Went over the top last month which automatically reverts to dial up speed which was slower still but not by that much,suspect the entire grid is being overloaded with no new cable be rolled out (my Optus contact said they haven't laid new cable since the big rush about 10 years ago)and now that Rudd has effectively stalled any near term development we will have to make do with what we have.
One answer is to ban all schoolkids from 6am to 11pm.
