Eating on a budget does IMHO depend on one vital factor.
Knowing what food is all about ie how to cook it for the best effect
Fish **** cheap is best for stews, pot cooking or soup, to the other end lightly grilled in
butter with a cheap salad.
Meat *** the same cheap meats make fantastic, stews meat balls and casseroles, with the better stuff carefully cooked and smothered in the cheaper veg.
Many people I talk to do not know the basics of what they are cooking, also many of the people I talk to do not know how to cook and prepare meals which do not come out the the freezer already prepared.
Nothing comes easy, food is no different to any other job you have to work at it and DYOR
