Trouble is, history is written by the winners…Not always the truth… Agree but don't leave it there as if the losers are more correct. There's a lot of history written by those who were in jail and concentration camps, families who have published the diaries of the dead, those who have had a sense of time and purpose, those who have disagreed with the prevailing culture they were fighting for. It is so easy to say "History is written by the winners..." which leads to an assumption of right or wrong. History isn't about right or wrong, but about what happened. Anything else is opinion, feeling, emotion, subjectivity. The fact - / history is Captain Cook landed, a specific event of its time. Was it an invasion or an incredible expedition of exploration is opinion, emotion, neither right nor wrong, History is written by those who bother to care and take the time to write it.
