    Hi Chris,

I sold my entire position at $84.06

I wouldn't say that I struggle too much with the need to do something when it comes to sales (as I mentioned this is the first share I've sold of any kind since I made sales in 2019 and that was to get a deposit together on my house) but I totally get what you mean about that and if anything I tend to get more anxious if my cash balance is building up and I can't find anything to buy. My general strategy could best be described as "buy and monitor" and I have a handful of companies that I feel like I understand well and just gradually top up on whichever of them I think are the best value when I have cash available throughout each year.

I've been considering WES as a candidate for a possible share sale but a few weeks ago was influenced by some writing that Chris Bloomstran published in his latest shareholder letter (have only recently discovered these but would highly recommend to anyone who is willing to invest the time) analysing the recent heavy Berkshire Apple sell down and analysing other times that great companies have traded at very high earnings multiples and then delivered underwhelming returns for the next decade even as their business is still very financially strong (Coca Cola in the very early 2000s was used as another case study).

There's hardly ever hard and fast rules in investing though because Gautam Baid published some great research in his book arguing against selling stocks just because they are at a high multiple and gave several examples of large companies that continued to deliver strong shareholder returns (the key difference in those cases though was that the earnings continued to grow strongly).
