We are around the same age. I was taught economics and finance by Neville Norman, Gunther, Officer and econometrics by Vaughan. Norman would never have entered the campus at ANU for fear of being executed by communists otherwise known as their student body. Yes, ANU was famous for self belief.
A few members of my family attended ANU and one or two were faculty (those who couldn't get jobs at Uni of Melb).
