My nephew also in the uk caught covid and was quite sick for a week, could not smell or taste for a month including nausea everytime he ate (Covid bad). his mother was negative even after looking after him and the rest of the household (3 others) who all tested positive but she had a booster 3 weeks earlier (vaccine and boosters work).
