    These photos show two of our guys cutting the 3m long core into 1m long pieces, washing the core and placing it in crates which then gets delivered to the lab for testing but not until the full depth of the hole is drilled.

    A 1,000m deep hole takes 3-4 mths to drill if there are no problems. On a good day (24hrs) the drillers can recover 20m of the core.

    Please take a note of the plastic pipe in the first photo that the guys are cutting using a grinder.
    This is a new technique in Poland which Balamara has introduced to be able to recover as much of the core as possible. It works very well.
    In the past drillers did not use this plastic sleeve and were losing parts of the core when pulling the core out of a 3m long metal pipe. Now they just cut the plastic pipe and extract the whole core.
    When the core is in big pieces and not fragmented (as seen in here) it's not a major problem but it was a big problem in the past when the core was very fragmented.
