    I guess there is also the problem some people might get from the constant argueing with their neighbours if the neighbours trees grow and obscure your solar panels, or any other potential obstruction to direct sunlight from any sources.

    Im sure there are ways and means to resolve these problems but the time and effort involved might not be worth it over the years and years you need to maintain a watch.

    With the massive cost of the solar panels, it is hard to see that some simple sun-following system of some sort wouldn't make sense.
    Afterall, it doesnt have to track the suns path exactly as in a focussing system, but just have a few automatic settings to try to optimise the attack angle of the sun over the day and the year.

    I guess it depends on how much you want to spend.
