Why the need to make the trading halt announcement vague? The stock is put in halt so what is the harm in being more specific? For example, if it relates to Teva, the announcement should have been "material corporate developments relating to the CHF program". I cant see any reason to be vague if it concerns Teva and CHF. Teva pulls out of drug programs all the time. Its not material to Teva so cant see the need for secrecy.
On the other hand, if it relates to licensing or partnership, the counter party may not want it telegraphed in an announcement while things are still being bedded down (Mesoblast might be in trading halt but the counterparty is not) or Mesoblast itself may not want to telegraph something that hasn't been bedded down or may have a chance of not going ahead.
