Just because the warranty is 1 year doesn't mean it will die after 1 year. Same with the Zcell and its 10 year warranty.
The generator is something that you would run a handful of times per year when there's a blackout. Less time running = less opportunity for things to break. The Zcell is 'always on'.
Are you seriously saying you'd pay $1500 to avoid having to go outside to manually check the fuel tank of the generator in the event of a (again, rare) blackout?
The bottom line is - everyone goes on and on about the importance of backup/blackout protection for them - but if they truly need it, they'd already have it. This is why your point about instant start/auto start/UPS is moot.
