The truth of the matter is that the Aung San Suu Kyi Government was
democratically elected and it was later debunked by a Military coup.

i know that this provides some dofficulties for the RWNJ masquerading
as RW Libertarians who detest LW politics....IE:

They aw wedged between the liberty (democratic right) of a peoples
to elect their Government and their hatred of LW politics.

    That's RW Populism for you....eh?

As Aussies we should support the rights of all peoples to democratically
elect their Government whether that be Right, Left or in between...IMO.

Obviously the US supports the Military Coup; because it is not shy in interfering in the domestic politics
of another country when it suits Uncle Sam's purpose.

    "Post-Cold War[edit]

On 10 September 2007, the Myanmar government accused the CIA of assassinating a rebel Karen commander from the Karen National Union who wanted to negotiate with the military government.[8]

According to media reports citing documents published by Germany's Der Spiegel in 2010, the Embassy of the United States in Yangon is the site of an electronic surveillance facility used to monitor telephones and communications networks. The facility is run jointly by the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) and the National Security Agency (NSA) through a group known as Special Collection Service.[9]

In 2011 the Guardian newspaper published WikiLeaks cable information regarding Myanmar. The cables revealed that the US funded some of the civil society groups in Myanmar that forced the government to suspend the controversial Chinese Myitsone Dam on the Irrawaddy river.[10]"

IMO, the Chinese are also wedged on Myanmar. Do they support Suu KYI who is LW or the Military
to protect China's investments in Myanmay and its strategic location in providing a passageway from
SW China to the Indian Ocean? IMO, its likely having an each way bet because the political future
    of Myanmar is unclear.
