I was in Myer today too in Melbourne and registers were down. They were up late in the afternoon. I'm not sure what to make of it - they potentially lost a massive amount of sales in a critical period. I don't know the cause of the IT issue and I'm speculating a bit here, but as a software engineer I see an issue like this arising because the system is really being put though its paces with transactions. That is, it definitely wouldn't have happened on a slow day. Still very embarrassing for it to happen though.
