My guess is that if enough places refuse to take cash - or/and if cash disappears by law or similar -
what will happen is that on the first major outage of internet or similar -
business will scream blue murder - if they lose a week's trade - there'll be such a cry to go back to cash that it'll scare every horse and dog in the country.
And I don't see insurance companies covering the retailers for their loss of a weeks trade either - it'll come straight off the bottom line.
