I was looking the day b4 the announcement and had actually added it to a watchlist, i think it was just the presentations. (and i found it by looking for news articles on gold.. and there was one for this)
As well as this, long term traders watching all the time can see changes in sell spreads, I was not watching this one, but what i mean is sometimes they lay down sells to accommodate an announcement i.e. create a market. When i see that sometimes I buy the sells and then miraculously there are announcements. It looks insider, but it is people buying low noticing a change in the buy sell spread.
