I did not exactly want to pay for the historical data on similar web, but I found a reference to October 2022 traffic vs October 2023 traffic where On the website semrush .com using way back machine for web archives I can see 6 million site visits to Myer in October 2022 from the same source website comparing it to October 2023 with 9 million visits to myer.com.au
so that’s a very decent 50% increase in visitors.
in reporting on 24th January 2023 the website sale declined by 9.1% to 20.1%
, still overall record sales and the share price gain a lot after this announcement to even a nice and juicy 8cents dividend
for me , given there was nothing special in October having 50% more traffic than the year before ( where we even on a 9.1% less online activity had record sales ) means that either online is cracking it now and nov / dec numbers also up 40-50% and we can see something between 25-30% + group online sales on the initial 5 months trading period report coming out soon. And online has always better margins.
so I think given the fact that people reported here on busy busy myer stores, that this 5 months trading can be a nice dividend generator for us, as retail spend was up … compared to last year perhaps even juicer bottom line than last year. Logically I wouldn’t see why not..
I’m fairly new in myer And averaged up a few times since my 50c and 48.5c initial purchase - so I’m hoping the numbers add up and we don’t get surprised by a few extra company Porsche added to the assets during the 5 months trading period.
no investment advice !
