A few months ago, I read a comment from Roy Morgan that said Liberal voters were among the groups more likely to shop at Myer.
Given that the conservative parties enjoy strongest support from Australians aged 50+ (a very large group demographically), that is one more reason to suggest your hypothesis might be credible.
However MYR has said in the last year that it's attracting lots of younger shoppers. On most occasions when I go to the Melbourne CBD flagship store, there are many younger women in particular having a look and perhaps eventually purchasing.
