My wife shopped at MYR's flagship Melbourne Bourke St Mall (CBD) store on Sunday 31 July's afternoon (last day of its 'Stocktake Sale') and reported that the store was very busy.
Provided the weather isn't super cold and/or rainy, you'd hope it might be, as weekends is when MYR should have significant takings (not 1000 hours on a Tuesday morning). After quizzing further, she said there were queues at staffed registers in the homewares section.
MYR doesn't always staff every payment point (too expensive with Australian labour costs the highest worldwide), but I took the comments as a fairly optimistic sign.
