Yeah, I used to think the same thing, then I watched them shut down the Brisbane CBD store because the landlord wouldn't come to the party. That's completely ruthless.
A lot of the other landlords would have seen that and know they meant business. If a major shopping centre lost its Myer, that's a huge hole to fill, and takes away a major reason to shop there for many people.
Case-in-point, my wife has never liked Chatswood Chase because it only had a DJs, even though I quite like it because it has a pretty good Coles and fruit shop (yep, I do the grocery shopping. It's something I enjoy actually ;-)). She'll always make us go to the Westfield up the road as it has a Myer, even though Westfield parking is always a nightmare.
You are correct though, it would be good if they broke out per-store performance. It's probably information the landlords want also though.
