The image below may be nowhere near the crowds of 20 years ago for the MYR Boxing Day sale (queued up before 0800 AEDT - photo from the 'Herald Sun' website, presumably in print on Wednesday 27 December 2023 ) - but not only was the weather unwelcoming in Melbourne this morning (as it was along much of Oz's east coast) but 20 years ago MYR would not have had the Internet presence it has today.
I don't know if the picture was taken at 0759 just prior to opening, or at 0730.
Thank you 'Herald Sun' for showing shoppers with MYR reusable plastic bags above (that are far stronger, and durable in wet weather, than the 'replacement' BS paper bags):
