One might well ask the question 'if these were such great ideas, how come it's taken the comments of Mr Solomon Lew to spur the Myer Chairman and Board into action?'
I appreciate the article says 'MYR has been talking about monetising for years' but as a recent shareholder who's thankfully well ahead on what I paid (unlike the poor souls who paid A$4.10 at the float of a few years ago),it's clear there's been a sudden flurry of activity.
We don't have figures for what the online business sales (and net profit, assuming it's profitable - one hopes so!) have been between 1 February 2021 and the end of FY 21 on 31 July 2021. Sure, MYR will report in early September 2021 for FY 21 but a trading update as Mr Lew is requesting would be desirable, not that any firm proposals from Mr Lew have yet emerged.
