WHC has green field and brownfield expansion projects in pipeline. Funding for coal projects in future will be difficult. It is prudent to invest the cash wisely. Management has a history of spending at wrong time and raise debt.
Buying BHP mines with huge liabilities and very high regulatory levies from state government in not good for existing investors. Ideally BHP mines should be receiving a very low bid for these mines and BHP should be forced to keep this mines. This will give a message to state governments that higher levies destroy the investment.
