    I think it is a wallaby trees....but I can guarantee it is far too big for a hare...(I am familiar with most of the usual animals) and hares do not grow to a metre in length

    They move slowly when grazing (and pretty low to the ground when looking from a distance), but can really put a hop on :-)

    ps I have done the pooh inspection and cannot see anything apart from possums...there is a mass of leaves and twigs on the ground where it was feeding, plus the dry grass...
    it is inside a heavily treed little patch, with good overhead cover
